II. Data processing for the purpose of the provision of the website
1. What personal data is processed for what purpose?

We do not actively track users on our website as its only purpose is to inform you about our projects. However, every time you access content on our website, data is temporarily stored in our server logfiles that may allow you to be identified. The temporary storage of data is necessary in order to enable the delivery of the website. Further storage in log files takes place in order to ensure the functionality of the website and the security of the information technology systems. The following data is collected in particular: Date and time of access; IP address; Host name of the accessing computer; Website from which the website was accessed; Websites accessed via the website; Page visited on our website; Message whether the retrieval was successful; Transmitted data volume; Information about the browser type and version used; Operating system.

2. On what legal basis are these data processed?

The data are processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our legitimate interest in the data processing is based on the purposes mentioned above as well as in providing information on our work to the public via our website.

3. Are there other recipients of the personal data besides the controller?

The website is hosted by GoDaddy.com, LLC, which is represented by (according to Art. 27 GDPR): GoDaddy Deutschland GmbH, c/o WeWork, Friesenplatz 4M, 50672 Cologne. The host provider receives and processes the above data as our data processor. Data transfers to GoDaddy.com, LLC, which is located in the US, are based on Art. 45(1) GDPR.

4. How long will the data be stored?

The log files are kept for a maximum of up to 7 days.

III. Data Processing for tracking and analytics services on our website
1. What personal data is processed for what purpose?

We use Google Analytics to track the activities on our website. We need this data to understand how and by whom our website is used and to improve it. The service is provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. For the data collection and transmission, we and Google Ireland Limited are jointly responsible for data processing (Art. 26 DSGVO).

The following data is collected in particular:

– Protocol data which accrue via the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (Secure) (HTTP(S)) for technical reasons when Google Analytics is used. These include IP address, type and version of your internet browser, operating system used, site accessed before visiting the site (referrer URL), date and time of the visit.

– Google Analytics generates and stores data in pseudonym usage profiles. These include data about the use of the website, in particular page visits, frequency of visits and time spent on the pages visited, which is matched with the unique visitor ID of the respective visitor, stored in the Google Analytics Device Data.

2. On what legal basis are these data processed?

The legal basis of the processing is the consent given to us by you in the cookie banner (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) German Telecommunications-Telemedia Data Protection Act (TTDSG)).

3. Are there other recipients of the personal data besides the controller?

Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Data transfers to Google LLC, which is located in the US, are based on Art. 45(1) GDPR.

4. How long will the data be stored?

IV. Data Processing in connection with our newsletter
1. What personal data is processed for what purpose?

We process the name and e-mail-address you provided when you signed up for our newsletter. We process your data in order to provide you with information on our projects via our newsletter. If you do not wish to receive further e-mails from us, you can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the corresponding link in each newsletter.

2. On what legal basis are these data processed?

The data are processed on the basis of your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

3. Are there other recipients of the personal data besides the controller?

The Rocket Science Group LLC (doing business as Mailchimp) processes the above data as our data processor. Data transfers to The Rocket Science Group LLC, which is located in the US, are based on Art. 45(1) GDPR. The Rocket Science Group LLC is represented (according to Art. 27 GDPR) by: Bird & Bird GDPR Representative Services Ireland, Deloitte House, 29 Earlsfort Terrace, Dublin DO2 AY28.

4. How long will the data be stored?

Your data are kept as long as you are signed-up for the newsletter.

B. Your Rights

I. Right to obtain and access

You can request information in accordance with Art. 15 GDPR about your personal data that we process.

II. Right of objection

You have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of your personal data carried out on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The controller will then no longer process the personal data unless it can demonstrate compelling legitimate
grounds for the processing which override the interests, rights and freedoms of the data subject, or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims. The collection of data for the provision of the website and the storage of log files are absolutely necessary for the operation of the website.

III. Right of rectification

If the information concerning you is not (or no longer) correct, you can request a correction in accordance with Art. 16 GDPR. If your data is incomplete, you can request that it be completed.

IV. Right to erasure

You can request the deletion of your personal data in accordance with Art. 17 GDPR.
